The morning session of day two of the Guild Summit is now over. The morning session included a discussion with the marketing team and a quality of life features discussion. While the topics were not as “sexy” as day one, the attendees were no less passionate in asking questions than they were yesterday.

This is probably a tough group when it comes to marketing. They’re like Toydarians – marketing doesn’t work on them, only game features. Everyone here is already passionate about the game and willing to spend their own personal money to participate in events like this. The folks here are in it for the long haul.

General

  • Players can now use the command /roll or /random to generate a random number between 1 and 100. This command will also accept a range (example: /roll 20-40) or a die value (example: 2d6).

Classes and Combat

    General
  • Moving while channeling an ability (such as Telekinetic Throw and Force Lightning) will no longer cancel the Global Cooldown, which would allow those abilities to deal more damage than intended.

Sith Warrior

  • The French version of the “Darth” title is now correct.

Ask Mr. Robot is an amazing tool available both on the internet and as a mobile app (UPDATE: For now the mobile app is WOW only, but we’ve been told that one for SWTOR may be in the works!).  And right now is your chance to check it out as they expand from supporting WoW to SWTOR as well.  This should prove to be one of the most useful tools for character optimization available.

If you’d like to take a peek at what is possible you can go look at my armory for Skeletonjack with my current spec (Ops/PvP hybrid) in all of my customized Operations gear.  The only thing I left out was my Datacrons as I never wrote down the ones I’ve picked up.

Want to see the customizations available?  Want to know about the mobile app and the character item comparisons?  Want to know how it will tell you what gear will be an upgrade for you?  Click on that “Continue Reading” button.  Mr. Robot saves 100 kittens every time you do!!

Day one of the Guild Summit was all about Game Update 1.2 and the future of the Old Republic. The majority of the event was live streamed over the internet so those who did not have a chance to attend in person got to see and hear all of the great information coming out of the Summit.

Game Update 1.2 is the first major content patch for SWTOR and it’s bringing some amazing features. In fact four hours of day two are reserved for play testing 1.2. Additionally day two will feature a panel from the marketing group, and a panel on quality of life features for the game.

Overall those in attendance were pleased and excited about what was presented. Is everything getting fixed in added in Game Update 1.2? No. Game Update 1.2 is definitely a game changer, and there are more features in the pipline for 1.3 and 1.4. This game is continuing to grow and grow.

Laura Shot Third

Before anyone asks, let me get one thing out of the way ahead of time: I’m no theorycrafter. I am, however, pretty good at reading neat stuff around the internet. I’m also what most people would probably consider an experienced tank in MMOs who’s now gone quite casual. It leaves me more time to find neat stuff to babble about, right?

My babbling for today is based on the information detailed in this thread on the official forums. The information was originally discovered on the sithwarrior.com forums, which is a pretty nifty place for all things having to do with SWTOR theorycrafting. Players there have been putting in some time and research and have found out a few interesting ways in which threat works in The Old Republic. Check it out!

Hello and welcome to this week’s Community Q&A blog! This past week we asked for your questions and today, our developers have answers for you. Please note in some cases we’ve combined multiple questions into one, and we have edited some questions for clarity.

This week is a bit short on answers, but we’ll definitely make up for it with the upcoming Guild Summit, which is going to be packed full of information! So much, in fact, that we’re going to postpone our next Community Q&A blog until March 16th in order to allow for all of the new information to sink in. We’ll open up the official forum thread for the March 16th Q&A on Tuesday afternoon (CST).

So, don’t forget to check out the Livestream for the Guild Summit on Monday (more information will be coming very soon) and we’ll see you all here again on March 16th!

Be sure to discuss this blog here.

On the PTS a new vendor has appeared that sells new colored crystals for millions of credits. SWTOR community member Eortotai has summed up all the crystals and their costs for us on the SWTOR forums. Check out what we should expect to see.

About the vendor: This vendor showed up in the updated patch notes for patch 1.1.5. It was stated that this vendor would be on the Imperial and Republic Fleets until Game Update 1.2, when they will be bringing about a major overhaul for most, if not all, crew skills.

Note: All +31 stat crystals require player level 47. All +41 stat crystals require player level 50. All crystals except the Cyan and Purple crystals are BoP. All crystals are listed without any requirements to use except player level.

Players see MMO’s as games made for their enjoyment.  However the reality is that MMO’s are created because this is a multi-billion dollar industry.  Make no mistake, the people that write the checks to create MMO’s are doing so because of the bottom line.  And that’s a perspective that many gamers either choose to ignore or do not understand.

Both EA and Activision have recently made several interesting decisions that have made many gamers wonder what was going on.  From the 600 employee layoff, the cancellation of Blizzcon, the perceived early release of SWTOR, the Oceanic server release debacle, and more.  But if you examine it all from a business perspective then it makes a lot of sense.  Want to know why?  Click “Continue Reading”.

The guys at Toroz.com.au had a chance to interview Gabe Amatangelo about PVP and some of the upcoming additions in 1.2. Here are the highlights:

Gear/Warzone/Commendation Changes

  • Lesser end-game commendations (Champion, Centurion, etc.) will not be exchangable.
  • There will be two levels of warzones. Regular and Ranked warzones.
  • Regular warzones will give out regular WZ commendations, and Ranked warzones will give out ranked WZ commendations.
  • New intro PVP set for new level 50 players to fill gap in gear.
  • There will be some “fun” uses for commendations you dont need anymore.

Ranked PVP

  • Phase one will be server specific.
  • Phase two (coming in the future) will have cross-server queuing.

General/UI Changes

  • Combat log coming soon.
  • DPS meters/Parsers will be done by 3rd party addons via combat log.
  • Free/Paid Server transfers are being worked on but no date provided. They want to make sure the process is perfect before releasing this.

Cross-Server Queuing

  • Coming in phase two of pvp changes (later than 1.2)
  • Priority is on playing with people from your own server.
  • As soon as you start choosing certain things (which warzone, ranked, etc.). It becomes more difficult for you to get a WZ with server players so you go into the cross-server

The following loot list is for normal mode The Colicoid War Game, which is a flashpoint for levels 39-43. All bosses are listed in the order of occurrence. Trash drops are at the end.

Loot lists are currently a work in progress. If you notice anything that needs a correction or addition, please feel free to leave a comment.

Note: The more time I spend compiling these loot lists, the more convinced I am that some of the drops originally recorded during beta have been taken out of the loot tables. For now, these items are listed as “Unverified.” For this list, I have placed them with the drops I am unsure of as to their exact location within the flashpoint. As you can tell, the combined list is huge. Any information regarding any of these drops would be appreciated!
